I just bought a Hibiscus that looks similar. The plant tag was uniformative. I've been searching the web, and I think it is Hibiscus 'Cooperii' Is that the same thing? I read "somewhere" that "pinching" increases flower production. I thought that would produce "bushiness".
What has worked for you?
The photo just came up, 3 years after Diva's post. A quick search suggested both that you are right in calling this 'cooperii' and tht there is a form that has mnulti-colored variegation.
How is the plant doing for you?

Hi!
I have both Hibiscus rosa-sinensis 'Snow Queen' and Hibiscus rosa-sinensis 'Cooperii'. Both do well here in full sun. I like 'Cooperii' the best because it has RED & PINK in the leaves whith maroon stems, reminds me of Christmas. 'Snow Queen' only had WHITE and GREEN variegation on the leaves. The flowers on both are the same size and color; red single blooms.
Check out the link below for more information on both and go down to the section that reads "Garden-Variety Cultivars Frequently Sold By U.S.A. Mass Merchants".

Hi, flowerjunkie -
Thanks for staying with this thread.
I tried the hyperlink, but it gave me an address line that reads "about blank"! Could you try to copy it in once more?

Hi Peter,
Well that is strange. When I went to edit my post to correct the link it shows up as correct. But for some reason it doesn't show up correctly on finished post. I'll send you an email with the link. Maybe then you can access it. Let's hope.

I love that hibiscus!
