You know, PoppySue, I have grown these, though I've never bought seed for them. I grew 'Bombast Rose' one year, then collected seed. The next year they came back single and looked just like this. There must have been a "Queen" in Bombast Rose's past!

And I'd never seen anything like the fringed one before poppysue - what a confection!!

I have a friend that collected lots of seeds from this type, if you want some, Phil, I'll get some from her and send them in the package.

It's after midnight here, Phil... almost 12:30, and I've been meaning to get to bed. Dennis went to bed over an hour ago. I got all caught up in those lovely photos PoppySue posted of somniferums, so here I am still pounding the keys!

I got these from T&M. One of their rinky-dink packs of 50 seeds. I do like the white center.

Most of the pics have been on my hard drive for a while. I didn't grow many poppies this year. In fact, I ripped out tons that had re-seeded. The only one I planted was the Lauren's Grape. I just don't have enough space anymore - it's been filled with perennials. I have to say I REALLY, REALLY missed my annuals this year.

So what's going to happen next year...........?

How do you get the photo to say daves garden? I want to give my photos to daves garden to use for the data base, but I don't want a "disfiguring" mark on them. Please do not be offended by that word, I just can't think of another way to say it.

If you go to your DG member page ... het the "Preferences" link in your "About You" box. There's links on the left column.... one will be Copyrights. I think Dave gives a choice of 3 different copyright designs to use.

I looked at that and I can see you are using option of copy right number 3? It would be nice to have a sample pic on that page so we can see how each one looks. How come it says property of daves, on your photo, and when I don't have a copy right,it says copy write to Bug Girl, does that mean daves can't use it?

Yes - #3 is the one that's on this picture. I think Dave was just trying to make the mark a little easier on the eyes.

ok, the mark has been updated which is why on all your past photos I have not seen it at all, now it is visable.
