Aren't these just gorgeous?... and they come back double from seed!
Wow, all these poppies are gorgeous. I sure wish they'd grow here!
Is it just too hot, Floridian? I think some folks in warmer climes grow them in the cooler months, but they do like their moisture.
i have no luck with the fancy kinds of poppys here. Theres just no way i can keep then hydrated in 110+ degree weather! I am envious of your poppies. All i can grow during the summer are Californa poppies.
Yes, and the Californias don't do all that well here! The flowers always look better in the neighbor's yard, don't they?
Now i know why you are called poppy sue!
Yes, she sure lives up to her name! But that's not all she grows. Lots of the original pictures on the PDB are hers, but it's nice to see some new ones. She puts my poppy pictures to shame!
I know this thread is 2.5 yrs old, but I just ordered seeds for this flower and wanted to see what they looked like. Boy, am I glad I did! These are beautiful!!!! Tamara
Flemish Antique is said to be an heirloom variety, also said to be the flower often pictured in old paintings, but assumed to be peonies.
