Love this plant Stacey. I even got some nice potatoes from mine this year. Guess it paid to start it in the greenhouse. The leaves were huge and so crisp and clean looking. One of my favorite vines. Great pictures.

I bought some of these a few weeks ago. I planted them in pots. It's been about 2 weeks now. Was I supposed to bury the whole potato in the pot or leave some of the tip of it sticking out.
I checked yesterday and noticed that a few of them are growing roots on the bottom part in the dirt.
Someone else told me that I should not bury the whole thing.. also does it like to be in shade and would it hurt to put osmocote on it, it just doesn't seems to be growing fast enough.
I just would like to know if I should bring it inside house or leave outside on patio. I have always wanted one of these, I think that the leaves are beautiful the way the vines carry themselves also.
Thanks!

Nature just lays them on the soil, as they drop off the vine, but they don't even need that to root. They will root in a drawer with no soil, water or light. My best advice is be careful, these things are monsters here in Florida...we can't get rid of them for trying.

On the other hand they certainly are beautiful with the big, glossy, heart shaped leaves...
