Here we go again....

This is a passion vine - not a brug.

Gosh, you can see those without enlarging the picture. I found some on one of my new EE babies today, so everything was sprayed. Hate to see them start this early.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

ACK, I don't want them!!!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

oh my, you sure can see those easy. good luck poppysue.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Good Luck! Man I hate those things. I hope they don't get started here again.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I hope you luck out Tracey. I'm afraid it is going to be a long winter her the way they are starting already.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

You can see the web. Don't want them to get started here. I check most of mine every day. Use dishwashing liquid/water, do not use too much harsh insecticides, unless absolutely necessary.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I don't want them either! Great picture though! May help some of the newbies out!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I don't want them this year. Last year was awful and I battled them all winter.I'm going to start spraying on a regular schedule just to be sure they don't have a chance of getting comfortable if they decide they want to live in my GH for the winter.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I battled them all last winter, then got mealybugs. Hope this winter is better. I bought the "good stuff" and it's working so far.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Cala what's the good stuff?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I bought the Avid earlier, then for the mealy bugs, aphids and whatever else was eating on them I used Attain and Duraplex. These are total release aerosols, you just set the can in the greenhouse, push the tab down and run like heck to get out before it makes a cloud in there!! You can't go back in for 12 hours, so I do this at night. The TR aerosols are like a cloud, they cover the entire plant with an insecticide. All the beneficials were gone, except for one wheel bug. I felt real bad when I saw that I'd missed taking him out.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I might have to ask Santa for some Avid. -lol- Do you think he has it in his sack of toys?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Poppysue, I bet he does, lol. All us brug growers have been good girls and boys, so Santa should have a well stocked bag of "toys" for us!!!!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Poppysue, I also use Avid.I broke down and bought it last year after I tried everything else.It was the only thing that worked and cleaned my GH right up. It's expensive but well worth the money.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

where do you find it? i dont have mites yet-but i just hate the thought of having them again! yuck

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I don't think you'll want to get AVID until you HAVE a problem - lol. It's like over $100 a bottle. There's a couple of rose websites that sell it.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Some of the rose places sell it. Check with a greenhouse supply place in your area first, it's usually cheaper from them(but still expensive).

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I think I bought mine from Rosemania.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I won't tell anyone where I bought mine. I had too much trouble getting it from them. It was the same price as the place Snow got hers. They told me the problem was that they were having computer problems, but as soon as PayPal got on them, they mailed. Within 24 hours.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

AGH darn mites. This is why all my pasion vines are sitting outside in their pots BEGGING to come in. I swore not again this year and heartless me has left them to fade away in the cold. Between the spider mites and mealy bugs last season I've CUT way back on what I'll bring in.
With that said, it still looks like a jungle inside.
Except for my 'naked' brugmansias. I stripped all the leaves off of them. This new house and garden came with a very HEALTHY supply of white flies. We all know white flies love brugs. *sigh*

Guess we can't win, bugs are stronger than we are!
