That is very pretty. I have never seen that one. Is that from seed?

I found this on Google - HTH. The site is www.horticulture.com but hope the link works :)

The link works, but it is clear about it being for sale, I think the site is send an e card with the photo. Did you get it in a nursery near you?

Oh sorry, yes i got it at a local garden centre but i'm in the UK :(
I'll have another hunt - i found a couple of places before but they were UK too

Oh dear, I can't get it from UK, since soil can not be mailed in or out of California. Plant traders sometimes do it on the sly, but an offical place would never do it, so there you have it. But, it is very nice any way. Does Wayside ship to the UK?

The link in my last post was to a place in the US

There's mention of somewhere here too, but i don't know where they are - you should be able to find out

Oh, I see it is a US place and only 4.50 each, Wayside is 12 dollars each. Wayside will ship to CA, because they pack in pure peat, instead of soil. But, normally removing the soil and packing in peat, (I have found) puts a big strain on the plant, which is why so many arrive dead.

Another one http://www.forestfarm.com/search/closeup.asp?PlantID=vire043

San Francisco, CA

That was a nice link but they only ship during these dates
SPRING March 20 through to May 29
FALL September 5 through to October 23

so I can try another of the links and see about that. Usually, I can plant Viola all year, no problem. It likes cold.

Thanks for the information. I am building a new home in Olive Branch, MS and are planning new gardens for 2004.
