Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Lovely outside again today. A bit breezy and a few degrees cooler than yesterday, but still shirtsleeve weather.
I got a new OPUS birdfeeder today at Orschlen's Farm & Home. They were back down to $5 this year like the first 3 I bought a few years ago. Last year that same one got up to $8 at WalMart. Now we have 4 just alike. This one is a single clear tube with 6 openings for feeding. The top row of three has little perches on them. These pieces are all bright red. Every bird in the yard fights over who will get to eat from these. We have other feeders but few birds seem to like them very well. The feeders are right outside the window where the parakeets are so they get to see the wild birds and talk to them at feeding times.
We got a light shower for about 30 minutes or so this morning. That little bit of rain will do more good than all the watering I did yesterday.
I need to bake a cake to take to Powell Gardens tomorrow. I think I will try a new sweet potato cake recipe I found a couple weeks ago if I can find it again. Otherwise I'll use pumpkin.
GOD bless and keep each and all of you.
