early bloomer?

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Because I am in the mtns., we have cool nights and the bruggies are slow-growing. Do you all have a suggestion for one that blooms well in cooler conditions? or perhaps is known as being an early bloomer? 3 of the 4 I have never got buds and the one that did, was planted elsewhere, about 1000 feet lower in altitude and had more sun that I have..

You should try arboreas, sangs and flavas, all them like cool temperatures.

Oh Ludger, I am a newbie to brugs and I have no idea what those terms mean. I guess I was hoping for some named varieties that I might recognize...

Ludger, I live in a cooler climate than Woodspirit and I can't seem to grow Sangs. They get to about 3 ft. or so and then just die on me. I have lost three this summer and finally just gave up. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Should tell you that even in zone 5, we get into the upper 90's F. 35-37 C.

Sorry to both of you, smile.

I guess you are saying that it is really too hot here to grow them, right? I thought it might be, but just wanted to say I tried, even tho I failed. Thanks.
