Hi,
Want-to-be-a-Gardener was so very, very kind to post me on this mat. I 'd like to introduce myself to you, gardeners all over the world, a little.
I'm a still-going-strong-50-years-old-lady. I live in the very south of the Netherlands with my "belly" to Germany and my "back" to Belgium. Both countries are only 1/2 hour driving away. I feel very privileged about this. I 'm born in Indonesia and I've left this country with my family when I was very small. Saya means "I am" in Indonesian language.
I have a sweet and gentle son who turned 19 years old last september. Together with him I live in a house that has a backyardgarden about 180m2 big (or small, everything is relative..). My garden is facing south so I have full sun whole day when the sun is showing its (hers, his??) face. I have loved gardening, flowers, plants whole my life. Even when I was a little girl I've never left the house for a walk without a booklet to look up for info about the plants I saw on my way. But I never had much space for gardening before. My former garden was only 4m2! That was'nt big, but I enjoyed it so very much. It makes me happy when I can weed and dig the soil with my bare hands. So gardening is for me more than just a hobby, it's my way of living and it helps me to survive. One look on one single bloom can give me a happy thrill that lasts for hours
I also grow veggies in my backyard and in a communitygarden together with a friend. I'm a good cook, love to prepare dinners for my family, relatives and friends and I love to eat my own preparations also. Harvesting makes me feel the richest woman on earth.
So, I'm very glad to meet you all, gardensoulmates.
When I've figured out how to subscribe to my memberpage, you can read there also about me.
I'm looking forward to meet you.

Saya,
I did an Indonesian ristafle (spelling wrong?) rice table ONCE!!! What a lot of work! But it was so delicious. Then when we were in Amsterdam, tried to go to an authentic one but the wait was too long as it was so popular! Well, maybe in the future there will be an opportunity!
Hi to all of you,
I've already met a lot of very very nice people on DG. I'm so lucky I've found this site on the internet. Thanks again for all the warm welcomes and the nice things you all wrote to me. Also thanks to DG (!) who has given me opportunity to meet you all.
