Does anyone know anything about them? They are on a piece of
property doomed to be developed soon.

I have never seen those....can't wait to find out what they are.

Stacey, nice pictures. I've never even seen a tame abutilon go to seed. This is another learning experience for me.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It does look like an abutilon. Mine make seeds all the time, well, most varieties do.

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

The seed pods are like the wild abutilon that grows here. Not like the hybrid abutions.

The wild is called 'Velvet Leaf'. Is this one's leaves velvety?

Maybe a natural cross between wild and hybrid ...???

Thanks for the info. The leaves are very velvety, the flowers are small and the plants, so far, are about 2 feet tall. We're going back in the morning to see if there are more that need to be rescued.
Thanks Brugie :) Jo leaves tomorrow afternoon...I'm sure going to miss her!

Hi Floridian ..
If you can get a few seeds to share .. I would like trying this.
Good luck in the 'rescue' (o:
