My first Brug flower, :-)

Sarasota, FL(Zone 9a)

Ok, I don't know what this is except that is was marked as yellow. This was a cutting that I got from my BIL, it was given to him by one of his customers purchasing roses from him. It has 5 flowers on it and this is the first one that shows any signs of blooming. I am so excited, I can't wait till it blooms! Then maybe someone can give me an idea as to what it is, :-)

There is no thrill quite like your first one!! Congrats!

Sarasota, FL(Zone 9a)

Thanks guys! I have been tempted to go out and check several times tonight. This picture was actually taken at dusk even though it looks darker out. I really don't want to miss it blooming. DH thinks I'm off the deep end for sure now, LOL. I really don't care what color it is, LOL! But yellow would be nice.

Annie, it probably will open yellow, or white, then in a day or so will change colors and hopefully last 3-4 dqys for you to enjoy!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I don't think it will open tonight.

Sarasota, FL(Zone 9a)

I wouldn't think so either tiG, as the very tip was beginning to uncurl at dusk tonight. I would think that would be a bit fast to reach full bloom. I sure would love it if it last for a day or two. I want to take a 100 pictures, LOL.

I bet it lasts several days in this weather!!!

You are going to be addicted to brugs real fast! Join the crowd...the smell...mmm

Sarasota, FL(Zone 9a)

LOL Hibiscus, I already am addicted and it's all Calalily's fault. She not only got me started on this addiction, she then feed the habit by sending me more cuttings, LOL.

I want to collect as many different colors as I can.

Annie,
Hope you have a lot of room. One flowering brug is never enough. You will soon have this obsession to come over you---I HAVE TO HAVE EVERY BRUG IS SEE. Welcome to Brugs Anonymous. LOL Repeat after me-I WILL NOT WANT EVERY BRUG I SEE!!!!!!! So far, it has not worked on anyone in this group. Maybe you will be more lucky. Enjoy!!!

Bward, LOL and no it won't work! I have over 65 brugs at this moment, only about 20 of those from cuttings. I have 45 that are about a foot tall of 4 different varities that I started from seed. Opps, make that 5 varities. Considering that I didn't have a brug one this past
August 5th, I didn't even know what a brugmansia was, LOL.

I tell you, it's all Cala's fault! (I have to blame it on someone, sorry Cala).

DonnaB, Shimmey, Shimmey Brug-O-Bop, see me doing my brug dance???? LOL girl, Ok, there goes another 1/4 of the front yard. I am totally freaking here.

They are fixing a drainage problem with the creek that flows through our development and the Supervisor who is in charge of the project is going to have a dumptruck of creek bed top soil delivered to our house so I can plant them all in 30 gallon pots and arrange my whole front yard with them. To top it off I have a box of new cuttings coming! Yippie! OK, where do I get my crown for being the queen of the rainbow? ROFLMAO I'm not there yet but I'm sure getting closer.

Man, that creek bottom top soil should do the trick....
Now, you've started something! We will send more brugs!!

Sarasota, FL(Zone 9a)

LOL Hibiscus, but believe it or not, my DH is the "Framer Mike" around here. Our garden is all his doing. Before this past July, the most Mike had ever grown were a few house plants. He started our garden this past July 21st to attact birds and butterflies that I could watch out of my bedroom window for those days I can't get out of bed. He is also a nature photographer, so this was right up his alley. Mike has a "Green-Thumb" and has found his true calling, LOL He is also has become a brug enthusist, LOL Thank you Cala, OK so I owe you one! but it's still your fault.

Thought you might like to "see" how Mike's garden has grown, :-)

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It's looking great, but I still see a bit of grass, lol. Don't apologize for blaming it all on me, I'm always happy to pass this obsession on.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

What a great transformation in your garden. What a super job. It is so much fun, isn't it?

DonnaB, OH MY GOSH! Thank you girl! I am beyond blown away. Your box arrived. Mail Call Forum time, LOL!
