my garage!

Franktown, CO(Zone 5a)

Had to move my husband's car out and make room for the bloomers. Got a new job and have worked about 80 hrs a week. I'm lurking when I can, miss everyone!

Lookin' Good!! At least you still have blooms. I think I have one in the basement and it was a surprise. Just waiting for next summer now.

Here is one of my late bloomers...

I bet your garage smells as wonderful as it looks. Hibiscus love your late bloomer too!

Franktown, CO(Zone 5a)

The garage is smelling rather nice these last few weeks. Hibiscus, at least you have more leaves than I do!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

I think they look pretty happy there and I know that they will be glad to be out of the cold. I kept a few older ones in my garage last year and they all did ok.

Whew 80 hours a week!!! And I thought working 6 nights a week was tough. I am glad you are still being greeted by beautiful blooms when you arrive home each evening. That's enough to make you smile.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Hibiscus, which brug. is this. I just love the color.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Don't know, came from Parks' as a Candida yellow, comes out yellow and then goes orange. Might be Ch. Grimaldi??? NOT serrated leaves. Have to ask the experts.

Franktown, CO(Zone 5a)

That sounds like Charles Grimaldi!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Hibiscus, if you can go to the brug data base and look up Charles Grimaldi, you will find some pictures of it there. I'm not sure what you have is CG. Looks like it might be a versicolor of some kind, but the blooms hang differently than the pictures in the data base. JMHO.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Sure does not look like CG to me. But it is sure a great looker. IS it gold or peach? it looks peach in the pic. very pretty!

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

I wondered as soon as I saw it, too. I thought it looked like Dr. Preissel's versicolor Apricot Queen: http://www.kirchner-abel.de/site/einzel/2.htm

You can see the leaves better in this pic, but the bloom color looks off: http://www.kwekerijgommer.com/fotos/Brugmansia/Apricot%20Queen.HTM They're smooth-edged and dark, like Hibiscus's.

I wouldn't think you'd get that one by mistake, but if you did -- what luck!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Looks versi to me..

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I also raised a Park's c. Yellow this year that was bought as a plant and not seed.It looked completely different from the one Hibiscus has. Mine looked more like CG but yet was different. I compared it to DrSuess, CG and SG and several others that I looked up on the web but could not come up with a definite ID so it was disposed of.I must say that the one Hibiscus was sent is much prettier than the one that I had.Just goes to show you never know what you will get when you order from a catalog. Maybe they sent Hibiscus something special. :)

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I would doubt it's Apricot Queen, that one is still very hard to come by in the states. Perhaps Versi-Orange or Versi peach? it's beautiful

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

That would be the day...something special from a mail order catalog. I hate not having a named brug, but I kept it because it smells good and is pretty. Has leaves like a versicolor, so maybe v. orange?

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

How do you tell a versicolor by its leaves? Is there a site where I can learn this stuff?
