Okay laugh if you must, but I need to pick yall brains about fireplaces. After my thump in the night thread, I realized that there is alot to learn about fireplaces..my first question...what is a chimney fire? Is that a fire in the chimney stack itself? How on earth does that happen? There will be at least more stupid questions like this ..I will ask them as they come to me..Oh yeah, there is a little knob thingy on the side of the place where you put the wood to burn (is that the firebox?) the knob says: OUTSIDE AIR CONTROL..then there is a little arm that points to "open" or "closed" When in use, what position should it be in? (I am really serious here)
