joydie1 lately? has she changed her name in here maybe??
has anyone heard from
I emailed her a while back, haven't heard from her either.
I was wondering also. I hope she is not sick.
Well, we need to find out!!
"eyes"
How are we going to find out? Who wants to volunteer to snail mail her?
I just read on another thread that someone got an e-mail from her daughter, and that she'd in the hospital having surgury on her hand......
I hope it's nothing too serious, and that she has a nice recovery.
Me too. Hope someone sees this that has contact with her and tells her that we wish her well.

I'm just back online again catching up with email and bringing myself up to speed with Davesgarden and all my wonderful friends here. Hand is okay, but my knees are worse than ever before.
Just about this time last year I stepped in a pothole on a city street, fell and injured both my knees. Turns out that there were more than just torn ligaments-indicating cartilege damage and the fact that I already had arthritis only complicated matters post surgery.
The pain is a B&$%$ and I can't remember when I last slept through the night. I have bags under my eyes large enough to stuff a wonderful selection of European brugs into...HAVE BAGS WILL TRAVEL is now my motto.
My poor plants really took a beating as help with them was really limited. My daughters came occassionally to help and did their best when they could so I'm thankful for that. Pain is a difficult issue to deal with-when the body hurts extensively its hard to even think let alone carry out the necessary activities in life.
Thank you to everyone for you thoughts and concerns. I see that Gloria's hubby and Owen wife have had their rough spots with health problems and I wish them a speedy recovery.
I'll be here occassioanlly as I can't bend my knees therefore it hurts to sit for very long. Hope I don't develop "flat butt syndrome" from all this inactivity (smiles).
Hugz and kisses to all of you.
Joydie
Joydie - nice to see you post. Sorry to hear about your health problems. Hope you can find some relief from the pain and enjoy the holiday season. We're all thinking about you!
Joyce, good to hear you are okay. Take care of those knees. I know what you are going through and it isn't fun. Watch out for the snow and ice and maybe spring will be a whole new ballgame for you. Hope so.
Shirley
Joydie,
Glad to here you are doing better....hope you continue to improve.
Ron is almost back to normal..he started driving yeaterday and has been running me ragged.
Thanks everyone again for your kind words.
Shirley,
Snow and ice arrived here unusaully early this year so I'm being extremely careful! I can't afford another fall to set me back.
Glory,
I'm glad to hear that Ron is doing much better...don't let him do too much right now as he still needs to take care.
Sue,
I'm so glad my daughters are older now...the holiday season will be great because they are capable of making some dynamite meals! The years of teaching them to cook has now returned tenfold. I'm blessed to have such wonderful children.
Joydie, glad to hear you are doing better. You should discuss flat butt with Brugie, she is the only other one that I know who suffers from it!
You take now and go slow.
Yep, and it gets worse with age. Actually it is this place that caused it to begin with. Pretty hard to leave Daves and work around here. So much to read and take in. Who would rather clean house anyway.......
Gosh Brugie my dust bunnies, have turned into elephants, if I don't get these cuttings out of the vermiculite and into the greenhouse Scott is going to bring in the weed wacker.
joydie, good to see you. just in time to celebrate the holidays with us. take it easy!
thanks again everyone
BIG, BIG, BIG hugz to all here at daves...I missed all of you!! I'm glad to be back.
dust bunnies-shoot I'm not even going to comment. I had them hanging from the ceilings I thought they looked like Halloween decorations. They're down now finally...LOL.
Those cobwebs show up overnight! Finally looked up and saw mine, they are down now, also. Take care of yourself, good to have you back!
Glory,
Good news here. Talked with my sister in Indianapolis last night. The plant you sent is growing well and she ROOTED all of the cuttings. I guess I wasn't very clear about when to pot up the cuttings. She still has them in water, huge root systems and she faithfully replaces the water each day after washing out the containers. Needless to say she's going out to buy some potting soil now. Another brugie freak in the making...lol.
Her work permit ?? I think that's different from a green card finally came through after all these years and she's estatic. She's still in process for her citizenship though. The school where she volunteers teaching chemistry, math and computers is begging the school board to hire her. She's so happy and says this is the best X-Mas gift ever!! Now she can look into applying to teach at the local college or university. In the meantime she will continue to volunteer at her daughter's high school until she finds a job.
She sends her luv to ya Gloria and holiday greetings.
jodie,glad to see you again!
Hope you're better!
Good to see you back joydie.I sure hope your doctor can get your pain under control. I'm sure the cold weather doesn't help either. Welcome back.
oh {{{CC}}}and {{{Snow}}}
I hope the knees are better by spring...surgeon says there was cartilege damage and the arthritis compounded the injury. the ligaments were in fact torn, not bruised like they kept telling me. will have more surgery again in the spring. by the time they fix me up I'll be walking like Robo Cop, braces and all!
