farmer's tan

Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

When I was a kid I considered a farmer's tan one like my Dad's. Even though he always wore a straw hat, hours and hours in the sun gave him a brown face and neck. He always wore a short sleeve shirt with overalls and work boots. With the changing times so have farmer's tans changed. The invention of tractor cabs with air conditioning and sunblock have changed things a little.
When I'm out I wear short sleeved tops - usually a beat up t shirt. I look rediculous in a hat and usually wear shorts in the summer. I don't usually wear sunblock, but know I should.
Horseshoe, I think I member that you're a redhead, and that you usually wear a hat? no shoes though, so tan feet? Or do you tan at all.
Catherine, I can imagine you in a big straw hat out working in your lovely orchard and flower gardens.
Patty, I think you are already very tan. probably not a big hat wearer. right?
EvaMae, long sleeves no matter how hot? but not a clue what kinda hat?
Well, what kinda farmer's tan ya got?
