Does anyone have an olive tree that they grow potted outside in the warm season and bring it in during the cold season? Any info on olive trees?

Celia, I am in zone 8a-b in B.C., Canada and outside in the ground I am growing an olive tree(Eleagnus Angustifolia), Russian Olive Tree..He has been in there for over four yrs now...doing fine....I have heard that these trees can be planted in a fairly huge container and yes, brought in close to the house...Elaine

Hi Celia,
I have grown mine several years this way and has done very well.
I don't know mine's variety, but was a cutting taken from a historic over 100 year old tree in Houston.
I have an old recipe from my friend's mother I am anxiously awaiting to try.
So now ..bring on the olives!!
