White brug, strange flowers

Monroe, WI(Zone 4b)

One of the brugs I got from someone on this site as a cutting a year ago is finally blooming. The first flower was a gorgeous white double. The 2nd flower was a gorgeous white single. Flower 3 was another double. Is it possible for one plant to have both single and double flowers? Dumb question, as it is obvious that this one does.It has quite a few more buds on it that will be opening in the next week. They're so pretty, single and double alike.

Yes the cool weather has made some of my doubles be almost single, the extra skirt is stuffed up inside.

creamsickle this past week had a beautiful single flower, with no extra skirt!!! put pollen on it but it didn't take.
