We got our first 2 Brugmansia from a man in Fort Worth - he said one was pink and one yellow. I guess we've decided the pink is Insignis (?) so here's the yellow. It's just starting (yesterday and today). Any ideas on this one?
Another ID Question
jamacain yellow?
love his descriptiveness ..'pink and 'yellow'
pretty brug and nice photo!
These are young blooms, but so far, they look like Jean Pasko. Just a guess from me though. I'm no expert. I'm going by the inflated calyx and the way the bloom stands out instead of hanging. If it ends up with a dark rim around the edge, maybe I will have got this one right. Nice picture, Maggie.
Had to correct spelling.........

Brugie, you are probably right.
Maggie, could you post another photo as it ages more?
We will be able to tell better then if Jean Pasco.
Brugie, you are expert enough! lol
Thanks Alice, but I'm so far behind I'll never catch up with those who have been raising them for a while. I just enjoy my brugs and if I learn a little along the way, that is a plus for me.
Could also be Insignis Gold?
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I have to go to work (darn!) so won't be back till tonight. I will definitely take more photos as the blossoms age.
Is there one that looks like Dr. Seuss but with shorter 'tendrils' on the blossom? I have one plant that the ducks also took the tag off while it was still potted and another that I put in the ground this year that was sold to me as 'Dr. Seuss'. They look almost identical, same leaf shape, same pendant blossoms, except for the 'tendril'; and the 'Dr. Seuss' seems to open paler and darken, while the other seems (I need to keep a closer eye on this stuff) to open already dark.
Boy, this is more fun than I thought it would be!
Well Maggiedew, you are in luck if you think this is fun!! We play Name That Brug a lot around here!!!
Dr. Suess has serrated leaves.
Cala is right. I had forgotten about Insignis Gold. Mine was a little darker than this picture, but the blooms were older too. So many to chose from that sometimes a correct ID is not possible. Then they become just Yellow, White, Pink, and Peach. Have fun with them anyway. Don't let it drive you crazy. I've done that and still was unable to be exactly sure what I had. Isn't this fun?

I kinda figured it out, maybe that's why the man in Fort Worth said "one is yellow and one is pink"! My main goal this year is to tag them for color so I can tell recipients what color they're getting. Everyone who has seen them in person has drooled over them. In a way it's kind of nice to garden in a 'gardener deprived zone' you can make a big impression.
