hi i have the lady slippers that are hardy in zone 5 nova scotia canada they grow in certain parts of the woods here i have them in my back yard they are starting to go to sleep for winter i have sent them to a couple poeple in texas they made it great if you would like to trade just lmk i love tropical stuff esp. passifloras its hard to find alot of stuff in canada so lmk all my best Elaine

The hardy lady slipper orchids are extremely hard to move. They must have a special fungi to grow, it's a symbiotic relationship they have.

Cala is absolutely right. I received some beautiful ones from someone else in TN, but without the perfect conditions, including that fungi, they were doomed. The plants might survive for a few years before disappearing, but almost no chance of blooms. Better to leave them undisturbed. Maybe some Bletilla would give you that thrill of growing hardy orchids in your garden? Pleione are another possibility, but better as windowsill orchids.
