Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

Moved the cows to another pasture last evening. I had wanted them to clean up a brushy pasture that I hadn't used for several years because of the fence. The old herd boss was standing by the fence last evening mooing. "Please, it's time to move on we did our job here." She is the oldest cow in the herd and definitely knows how to move the herd around. She knows the sound of a truck or tractor may bring grain or hay. We bought her at an auction last year, so I really don't know her age. She looks 17 or 18 at least. Hopes she lives for a few more years to train some of the goofy heifers. When I let them out of their pasture they lined up and started eating. I hope to wait a couple more weeks before I start feeding hay. But, if we get snow like Jewel, I think We will have to start feeding it out sooner. Hoping someday to have better and more fencing to figure out a better rotational grazing program.
Well, Hubby wants to go to the local and eat Breakfast. I'll check in later.
