Why not Dr Seuss? It turns a nice pumpkin orange as the flower matures.I can certainly share that one!
And of course I didn't have a good pic of the orange phase. The flower in the foreground is just beginning to turn.

Didn't we decide that Dr Suess and Jutner Orange were the same? I can see no difference.

Good Morning!

I'm new to this site, just signed up a few minutes ago.  I'm in the Piney Woods of Northeast Texas.  Have a few Brugmansia, among them Dr.Seuss, and would be happy to take cuttings.  Our forecast is for 33
and 32 degrees Saturday and Sunday so I'm going out this afternoon to take cuttings anyway.  I'm fairly new to Brugs, although have been a gardener all my life it seems.  I've been fooling around with a web page at

http://www.crosswinds.net/~maggidew/ Don't have a lot of photos yet, but will add more next year.

Am looking for all information I can get on culture.
I'm thinking I need to put them on a really aggressive fertilizer program
next year.  Also, I'm concerned about the pH they like.  We have
pretty acid soil here, red clay and iron ore rock.  We use lots of compost.

Anyway, it's nice to be here!

Welcome Maggiedew. Good to have another brugie here on Daves. Haven't had time to go look at your website, but am on my way. Have fun here. We sometimes kid around a lot, but there is still good information to be had. Have a great day.

Shirley

Got to the web address and didn't know what to do once I was there. HELP!! I'm computer illiterate, so take it from there....... :-)

Welcome to DG, maggidew:) lots of good information here.

Owen

PS: I raised my brugs (this was my first year) just like my tomato plants....dig deep and throw the clay away. Fill hole with compost and manure. Side dress in mid summer with 12-12-12. Keep watered with Miracle Grow. Worked great for me.
In pots....larger pot the better....I used Pro Mix and a bit of 12-12-12 along with frequent Miracle Grow waterings.
