Shirleys Peach

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Tig - I know you said this would open light, but really it just has a hint of pink on the edge - is this normal or, is it lighter thatn usual. I have noticed the Isabella and Frosty are now much lighter too.

how old are the flowers? so many pinks in my yard are blooming just this side of white, it's hard to know. we have different light too. fall brings a different world to most brugs, doesn't it??

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I think the Brugs sense that fall is here. My pinks are all lighter than they were this summer and v. Peach is also much lighter this flush.

I think this is the third day for these - I kept thinking they would darken. DH just saw this pic, said the holes in the leaves don't look so good! Like I needed that!!

PJ, did you take some of my caterpillars??? lol! I remember the last flower I had on SP and it was pretty light, just the weather (or Cala thinks maybe it's the shorter days)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Even in white, this is a beautiful brug. I love the way it hangs and the flounce of the skirt. Very delectible!!

Mine is paler now too. It's almost white. The only colors that seem to get darker this time of year are the oranges and peaches. Guess because they are fall colors and pink isn't.

the one tiG gave me is blooming and it first opened with a little more pink than yours, after a couple of days it got more pinkish. When the bloom closed, before falling, it turned into a really deep, beautiful pink, as dark as tiGs' new ones.

hummer, you sure it wasn't peach?? :) PJ, you know me, it could have been marked wrong, but it had bloomed. watch and wait doll.
hey larry, did the seedpod make it?????

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

tig, shirley's peach looked pink to me also. i talked with brugie about this. i would say some of my blooms are lighter but BF and Rosabelle/pb are the same deep pink. it is pretty azalea. i just wish i had given someone about 10 more plants!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I thought bfly was blooming lighter, it is definitely opening much lighter, but the blooms are lasting longer and then coming into their full color. PB is lighter though.

So, as you say, Brugs are like a box of chocolates!!! Only adds to the mystique!!

there you go!!

Azalea,
I think it will change color again next year. Here the pink suaveolens`s are and stay pure white as snow and the apricot queen stay green. L`Amour that used to be very red is pure white too. The new leaves become smaller too. Its due to both lack of daylight and lack of heat. 7-10 degree celcius day and night made many of my plants so different, that I hardly know them anymore. :)
