George4tax: This is a beauty. I noticed it last night before more info was added, so I looked up spirea in Googles trying to place it. Is the foliage on yours as light green as the pic? I noticed one called 'Goldflame' that has bronzish young leaves early on that turn gold as they mature. Here's the site: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=www.gardengrovenursery.com/GGN/shrubs/shrubphotos/spiraea-x-bumalda-gold.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.gardengrovenursery.com/GGN/shrubs/shrubpages/spiraea-x-Goldflame.html&h=187&w=145&prev=/images%3Fq%3DSpirea%2Bbumalda%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26sa%3DG

hee hee, WZ, I think we've double-teamed george: I sent an email this morning, inquiring if it was possibly 'Goldflame' 'Goldmound' or 'Golden Elf'

so...c'mon george, don't be shy - tell us what you know about this plant, please?

Now, Go_Vols, if we start finishing each other's sentences, I think it's time to consider a legal separation! This sure is a beauty, isn't it?

Goldmound seems to be a good candidate. Unfortunately it part of a mass planting to get me started and not identified by anything other than Spirea. I found the following link to a nursery with goldmound http://www.gardensofthenorth.com/index.php?page=product.php&product_id=615 and it sure looks right.

It looks right to me, too, george4tax. That lime green foliage sure sets it off and makes a nice contrast to the other plants around it.

Congrats to Weezingreens. While doing some cleanup in the yard yesterday, I ran accross an ID tag on one of these. You be right! It is Gold Flame. (Also found a listing as Spirea Jackobsens Gold Flame.) I found another nice listing via Google at http://www.je-nursery.com/images/goldflame.jpg Thanks for the input and keeping me on the straight and narrow.

Hi, George4tax! I've been so busy with the holidays, I haven't been spending much time in The Garden. Googles sure is a great way to identify plants, and your pics are so clear and colorful, it makes it so much easier. And, those durable tags that last a few seasons sure help too!

I have a Spirea x Bumado but it's foliage is a darker green. It is a beautiful shrub. I took a cutting and planted in another place in the yard and it is growing.
The flower is Fuchsia colored. Beautiful.
