Oh I love it.. Is it in ground? 8 feet tall? wow.. I don't have it in my collecting and hopefully someday..

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

no, it's in a pot, it was a tip cutting from Cala. she got jealous cause hers hasn't bloomed yet. That's what she gets for giving all of us the tips!!! it's only 2' tall over the pot. but the blooms are huge!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Beautiful bloom. Mine is only about 1 1/2 ft high and has a bud. Hoping it doesn't drop it after seeing this picture.

I hope so too snow, this is a beauty! Thanks Cala!!!

tiG,
That sure is pretty!!!

I like this one too, but mine didn't bloom heavily. Seemed to bloom for quite a while but with just a few open at a time. Mine got to about 3-4 ft. in a pot this year from one of Cala's tip cuttings.

I'm hoping to get a root sprout for an alley tree. otherwise, I'll just have a short beautiful baby!

Mine has buds, can't wait to see it bloom. Another beauty.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Mine started blooming in August and now is loaded with it's second flush of blooms. To me it looks alot like
the Jean Pasco.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

OH it is in pot! Wow.. I have two that are near 5 foot tall..Pale pink and other ?.

tiG - What's an alley tree?

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Its definately got Jean Pasko as a parent in its lineage.Shape and color is ver similar.

Kyle, I was hoping you'd know something about this one. gnomey, do a search on threads that monika started and see her alley trees. We have a small one up the walk, but the trees are still less than 5' and really haven't grown like in ground ones so far. They are trimmed to standards, one trunk. I'm going to put mine closer next year too.

(Zone 7b)

I saw a post by monika not long ago that referenced alley trees but still wasn't clear why it was called alley tree rather than 'standard' .. i'll do a search.

very nice pic. send me two:) lol

gnomey, allee is the German word for avenue,or tree-lined street or walk.allee-alley.In France, you find a lot of them in the middle of nowhere..tall,shaded streets, which were planted in the days of Napolean to keep the sun off of his troops. That's the story i've heard all over France, anyway, and the trees are old enough to fit the tale.I guess the alley standard Brugs are tall enough to shade you when you walk under them.

That makes sense.. thanks for the explanation Gwist! Now how do you make sure your brug gets that tall before it starts to put on lateral growth? Sorry for so many questions, as you can tell I'm new to this. I'm trying to learn all that I can so I can make a small enchanted forest of brugs next year :)

Cala,
Don't feel to bad mine hasn't bloomed yet either but it won't be long.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Huge blooms Glory and Cala, you will love it.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

so pretty! we have had tons of great blooms posted this month!

(Zone 6a)

Is Tropical Sunset as fragrant as Dr. Seuss.....or does it have any fragrance? Sure is a beauty:)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Personally, I don't think it has as much fragrance as Suess, but that might be because it isn't as heavy a bloomer for me either. Still a very nice brug with a nice fragrance.
