The tiniest of all.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

This is my third and last v. Peach x Butterfly seedling. It measures 3 1/2 inches wide and is only 3 in. long. They opened yesterday and are turning a peachy color although with the cool temps the peach is staying lighter on my Peach Brugs. Out of three seedlings from this cross I have gotton three different flowers, Snowhermit, Mountain Mist and now this one which is the tiniest of all.It had long skinny buds on it. The buds were almost ready to open when I brought this one in so I don't know if it would have been a little bigger if it had been left in the ground.

Snow, all of mine are putting out small fall blooms, even the ones that were large during the summer. I think it's the cooler weather. I think they look cute small.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Butterfly is beautiful small! some haven't changed but some are a lot smaller than earlier.

The same here. Small flowers. Maybe this one will be larger the next season. I like it very much as it is now also. Short, compact and it seem like the narrow part of the flower is hided right under the calyx tips.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I like the shape of that one. Some of mine are always small like the Ursaline X, but some are small now that weren't earlier.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Very pretty! I do not understand how that thin wall or plastic is going to keep that very cold air out of your brug house. The heater must be huge. I know a small heater would not heat my house with real walls in California in the winter. explain it to me............. PLEASE Snow!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Kell. I wanted to get the double plastic that you blow air in between. It holds the heat better but it was just too expensive. That's why I usually don't open it up till about march 1st.I just didn't want to lose all my big Brugs this year so we decided to try to keep it open all winter. It will be very expensive to heat it and hopefully we can do it. If not I'll have to do something different. Keep your fingers crossed we have a mild winter up here.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I wish you all the luck Snow. I did not mean to sound so defeating. My DH is about to build me a cheapie GH and I am trying to figure out what kind of plastic I should use here. Of course I am not going to have a heater. And I have no idea what I am doing.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

also, you don't have to keep it 'people warm' just 'plant surviving warm'
snow, you know I'm praying for you to find a way to keep it open!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Thanks tiG. I need all the help I can get.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Snow, we could all send you some bubble wrap and you could do a "patchwork" inside layer. I wish you were down here, we've cut off enough 'scrap' from the big huge layers we just put on the big greenhouse to cover your house two times. Plastic isn't so expensive here, we do something called "pre-order" and got 40'X100' rolls for less than $200 per roll. It takes two rolls to cover one greenhouse.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Snow...keep this one one more season and see if it stays small..I want to start a line of miniatures eventually.and could use the gene material for future crosses.

:-)

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I've got it Kyle.I cut the whole top half of it off so I could see the blooms open. I want to see what it does next year too. When I saw how it looked I went out and cut the rest of the trunk off. Hopefully it will bloom again in the GH this winter once it's rooted.

Snow :-)

FSH, TX

Snow,
Could you post a picture of all three from this cross together for comparison? I am not on a very good computer right now as far as graphics go, but I will be sure to ck it out again later.
Eclipse,
I like smaller flowers as well. Darker pinks, more abundant branching, early flowering habits. These are traits I would rather see than overly enormous flowers with poor flowering habits. Of course, with every goal there is a way. Or is it were there is a dream there is a way. I forget, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes smaller flowers. I like smaller calyx's as well. A flower that only looks small because it is covered by an overly elongated calyx leaves little to be desired. Then, I like narrow leaves as well as they tend to show off more of the flower. I have to confess that the way the morning dew sparkles of a large velvety leaves like jewels floating about just under the oceans waters makes me go insane as well....

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm beginning to think that I could find something about every brug I see, that I like. I would like to see some smaller flowering brugs meld into the brug patch. The one that Kyle has, Inca Sun, is a small one and very pretty. Hope this one of Snow's will remain a small bloom when the summer arrives too.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Snow...Next summer I'm going to try to start a line of smaller sized plants with small flowers..keep me in mind if you decide this one has to go.Color doesn't matter

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Eclipse - sounds like you're back into hybridizing mode.
It's a good thing - lol

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Kyle, I've saved the top of the plant to grow next summer so I should have a cutting for you. Very curious what the bloom will be next summer. It's the only one that bloomed that small.

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Eclipse,Little Moon, grown from one of Arlene's seed is a small one.It has bloomed several times this summer and the blooms were small each time.Blooms are 5-6 inches in total length and about 3 1/3 inches across.I have an extra rooted cutting.Send me your address if you want it.

Kyle,
Old Glory is also a small flower....it's a Whiskers x Charles G. Hybrid...I can send you a cutting or two of it if you are interested.

I have a very small white aurea hybrid if you are interested. probably won't be sending out anything else before the first of the year, but just let me know.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

my dream is to come up with brugs that the hummers will enjoy here, something small enough for them to not get lost in or something. i saw a hummer in fall checking out a brug. if they fed the hummers, it would be perfect!
JT, thanks for sending me little moon.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Eric, I've got all my pictures in my old computer so can't post all three but I think I've got Snowhermit and Mountain Mist in the PDB. They are the sisters of this little one.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

snow, well, wouldn't you know I missed one when I redid this page. will get MM up this afternoon, sorry.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Glory, your "Old Glory" is too cute!!

Kell,
Isn't "Old Glory" cute...I have crossed it to Shredded White and so far the pod is doing well.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks everyone for the cutting offers..but the INN is full for this winter.I could use the genetic material in the spring..but right now I am full.I will remind you all in the spring and hope some of these are still available.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Now yours is one greenhouse I'd like to see a picture of Eclipse. It really must be something with all your tropicals.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gee Glory, I sure hope that cross looks like I hope it looks like!!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Hi Kell - how was the party?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi Miss Lizzy........it was to die for!! Absolutely delicious! I am now unable to move!! I could not stand one more day of eating like we have been eating!!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Well good - you deserve a good time for yourself.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Liz I don't have a greenhouse at home...all my plants are ALL over the house.
:-)

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

But do you store some in the municipal greenhouses? Or is
everything stored inside your house? Unbelievable!! You have everything ~~

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Kyle, I bet your home is lovely with all those plants indoors.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Snow, I found a seedpod nice and big on the V. cuba seedling I posted a while back that I got from you! might turn out to be a very pretty small dark pink! wouldn't that be great?

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

That would be great. With all the crosses everyone made this year someone has to get something really super next year. Got my fingers crossed for you.
