I have an avocado tree grown from a seed. It is in a pot outside in the summer and I cannot transplant it to the ground as our winters are too cold. It keeps loosing bottom leaves and getting taller and taller. It is maybe 5 years old. Will I ever get fruit?
I have 4 avocado trees , I started the seeds or pits In the house and keep them in the house . I set the pits in water in a small container "like a baby food jar "with the flat half of the pit in water and the pointy part out of water .(keep the jar full of water, if it smells rinse it out fill with clean water) . I used 4 tooth picks to hold the pit up untill the pit roots .Then plant them in dirt and keep the soil moist . They grow tall with green leaves . I have not had any luck with fruit from the trees yet ,they are still young.
