May be cold outside . . .

but inside seems to be okay so far. First flower off of this one just opened today. Suppose to be Insignis Gold.

Very pretty. I am bringing mine in slowly, I hate to cut them back when they are in full bloom. We barely dodged the frost last night, it was 39*F this morning.

I don't think that is Insignis Gold. Have a look at the picture I posted.

Now THAT is a pretty background! Do you live on a lake? Or is it really big pond?

It is beautiful isn't it?

Liz, it is a pond. I believe it is a mile all the way around. The picture was taken in front of the dining room window. I have 7+ lakes within 5 miles from where I live.

Brugcrazy, I'm not really surprised, haven't had one labeled right yet that has bloomed. Smells good though.

So does it freeze over in winter? Do people skate on it? Wouldn't that be a sight on a snowy night form your dining room.

Beautiful view over the pond. :) Skating, - I like skating. :) We were supposed to have - 3 *C here this night, but we have + 4.5. *lol* We spend all evening carrying Brugs into the garage, workshop, the freezer room and a few into the living room. Well, better safe, than sorry. Skiing or ice-skating won`t be so bad this hour.

There is usually people skating, ice fishing . . boys will get some ice hockey going. Of course it depends on weather. Last year due to our mild winter it wasn't really safe for very long. The only part you have to watch is to the left of the photo down on the corner is a culvert that runs under the road and it never freezes. Big fish in there if you can catch them.

Maybe not the right names on them, but you have posted some pretty pictures and they are brugs I would like.

I grew up in Montreal - people used to flood their back yards so their kids could skate. Now I live in a place where we never get cold enough for water to freeze for more than a day. Your dining room view sounds like a winter postcard.

Gee Waterloolily, if Miss Lizzy is going ga ga over your view, it must be great, considering the source!

Thats a neat and very safe form of ice skating. My husband is from Michigan and said they used to do the same thing. Occassionally when we would have a cold Christmas my brother would put the water hose in the tree on mist so we at least could Ice sicles. Have spend a many of Christmas mornings in shorts. LOL
