Hello everyone I'm new to Dave's. I have quite a few very small brugs that I wouldn't mind getting to size for spring. In a heated greenhouse, with a good fert program, will I need extra light to promote solid growth?
My sanguinea seems to produce good solid growth, and all the others have always been kept dormant so I haven't tried this. With other plants I have wound up with stretched stems. I'm near Vancouver Canada if that helps.
Thanks for any replies, Dennis
Growth during winter
Dennis,
Though not as much or fast growth as in summer, I manage to get size to most of my small brugs over winter and on to bloom spring/early summer.
My glasshouse area for brugs is kept cool. I supplement with growlights And a regular fertilizer schedule to keep growing.
Hope this helps (o:

Everyone - please welcome Dennis - he's saved me in more ways than one.
For the others who haven't met you. Dennis is a master gardener and a professional landscaper. He does amazing work and grows wonderful plants.
AND - for those of you who are raising my sang x sang cross. Tonny, Ludger, and lots of others - Dennis' fuzzy sanguinea is the mother plant.

Thanks everyone, and Liz for being so kind. I currently can't set up HID's for them in the ghouse, although that would be great. I have a double ballast 4' flourescent canopy. Due to these bulbs having to be within inches of the plants it hardly can take on all of the cuttings, but I can be choosy.
Thanks- Dennis
Her brother's name is Dennis, that made me really look!
