lighter/darker season??

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

is it lighter in heat or cold?? Here is Melon Kisses that last week was blooming dark, but the two newest blooms are much lighter, and Spring Peach is doing the same thing. Nights are probably 20 degrees cooler than two weeks ago. But one (DxS R) that bloomed two months ago has darkened up considerably. Is there a general rule?

2 lightest blooms on this are 2 or 3 days old, compared with the ones in the back that are almost a week old. The oldest ones were that dark at 2/3 days.

tiG - I've been waiting patiently for my Spring Peach to darken up. It looks like it aint gonna happen :) It's just been too cold out there.

looked today and several pinks are blooming almost white now. wait on spring peach until next year, it is definitely worth it. It's my very favorite.

Glad to hear that. I almost left it out in the frost cuz I thought it would be too close to the versi-peach to tell the difference. Glad I didn't!
