tiG: These brugs are so beautiful! I checked out the entry for this one, and your closeups are breathtaking! These plants are really out of my league zonewise, but maybe I can grow some if I ever get a solarium or a greenhouse I heat all year long. I can see why all you folks in temperate climates love them.
tiG - that's loaded! Very nice :)
this one is making me dream of next year when it's bigger!!!
If it gets much bigger you're going to have to stand on a chair to take pictures!
lol!!! already can't reach the top blooms to pollinate even when on a large rock. I almost fell in the pond last night!!! (DH would NOT have been happy)
I can't wait til next year either!!! Been digging mine up all day!!
That's quite a picture you've left in my mind, tIG! You sure don't want to fall in the DH's pond! Maybe he needs to buy you a special brug ladder!
Sure sorry I can't grow these babies. I'm going to have to get some sort of biodome or something, I guess!
don't you heat your greenhouse all year?? monika in germany grows the most beautiful in the world and her outside season is June to Sept.
I don't think I can grow this in France but it is beautiful!
It would cost a small fortune to heat my greenhouse from September through May. If we had access to natural gas, I probably would. The other issue is keeping the greenhouse sterile so that I don't contaminate my little seedlings when I bring them in...besides, I literally fill the greenhouse with flats. We're working on a bigger greenhouse, so I'm hoping to have more options then. My real dream is to add a combo hot tub room/solarium to our house. Boy, could I grow tropicals or what! And the hot tub cover would be a great propagation mat!
