Has anyone ever made an indoor pond big enought to over-Winter their plants?
And how and what did you make it of?
I want to do one and I'm thinking of using theexpanding foam and rocks with a liner.
All ideas appreciated.

Indoor Ponds
My DH put in a preformed pond about 80 gallons and a smaller pond for the waterfall in our heated sunporch. Last year we kept varigated water celery, black magic elephant ear, in the corner is Louisanna Iris and umbrella plant. In the water we had a waterlily, that did go dormant, but sprouted new leaves early spring. Plus the fish.
This is the Louisanna Iris in corner and the umbrella palm. By spring the iris was 4 to 5 ft. tall and the palm had overfilled the pot and up to 5 ft tall. The umbrella palm is in a large metal bowl, filled with rocks and water. The water didn't get stagnat, as the palm would use it all within a couple of days.
Oh Debby, that is so pretty!!
I want a waterfalls that comes up to four feet and then spills down. I also looked at my space and that is something I will have to make, lol.
thank you for sharing.
A lady here in our town has three indoor ponds. She stacked concrete blocks up and caulked or cemented (one pond is caulked and two are cemented) them together and used expanding foam on them to further fasten them and provide a base for the liner and then she put in a pond liner of EPDM and her fish and plants just love their pond! They are located in a former porch that she enclosed with windows and it is now her living room as they found themselves using it more than the living room. She has a waterfall on each of these ponds. Beautiful and unique. The former living room is now a computer room/office. She also fastened flat rocks on the outside to decorate them but she is now thinking that she should have painted a mural on the concrete blocks. Hope this is of some help. Lani
Thank Lani.
I'd turn my whole house into a garden if hubby would let me,lol.
I wanna put one in my GH,but I'm quickly running out of room!
I made a small pond under my friends greenhouse bench last winter for my tropical plants. Looked good and the plants made if fine.
Ponditis, a greenhouse bench?
What is that? Is it in your greenhouse?
My GH is not heated except by a woodstove and we don't use it until in Feb. because I starat the seed here in the house.
the bench is the shelf that you place the plants on in the greenhouse. I do not have a greenhouse but my friend raises orchids in his. His is heated or cooled year around in a climate controlled system. Nice place for the plants.
