Well I don't want to take a chance on frost so today we moved the bigger brugs onto the deck under the shade roof.
I've cut back on the water and no fertilizer and have been removing the yellowing leaves and spent flowers in preparation for dormancy in an uninsulated, unheated shed.
The yellow possibly Dr. Seuss, still has 30 blooms on it and many more buds so I'm hoping to keep it blooming for a while longer.
Wish me luck.

Starting to harden off
Good luck to you, I too have to get busy and do move my brugs..
Where'd you find that pot poppytree?
Yeah, nice plant,nice size pot!
That pot looks awful heavy! My back hurts just looking at it. Beautiful plant.
Liz I buy my brug pots second hand from the local nursery when available. When they repot trees or when they deliver and plant trees for customers they keep the second hand pots and sell them.
That one is a 25 gallon one. Cost me $4.00 Cdn. I will not be buying any that size again tho. Too heavy to move around very much in the summer when its been watered a lot.
I can also get them new at about double the cost but why bother. Do you need some?
Well, no. I was just wondering. It looks humungous. One of my DH's clients is a landscaper and supplies me with pots for a reasonable rate. ie cheap - it's illegal to re-sell plant pots here because of possible disease. So don't tell anyone. I scrub each and every one with bleach. My hands look like a 90 year old's.
So SSSSSHHHHHH ~~~~~~
Very beautiful Poppysue. Hope it holds out for you a little longer.
i bought large pots from walmart the ones with the rope handles for $5. i just drilled holes in the bottom. when i need to move them i get the dolly works great.
