Here is a seedling from Monika's Aurea cross. It should open in a day or two.

which cross is this? my aurea x v. candida will open tonight. I have written monika to ask which were hers and which were nursery seeds. mine have long tendrils, I'm holding my breath here, can't wait til tonight. as with any seedling, I get so excited.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

very nice tendrils. someday i'm gonna make it to your place.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Can't wait to see it open. Hope you and tiG will post a pic when they open up.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Yep Arlene, you should come up with Dee, lol.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

All seeds originated from Herrenhäuser Gärten. After the experience with the aurea x RK cross, who knows, what this will turn out to be!

But the start is promising, Cala, it can be either a x candida or aurea. Maybe it turns into a bright golden color like Herrenhäuser Gold.

Cala - what do the leaves look like?
I have buds on mine too. We had clear skies last night and the temp went down to 41f. I almost died when I saw the thermometer this morning. That is our January temps. I simply CAN'T lose the buds on these ones.

my tendrils are already showing pink. I collected pollen from the first two blooms, and will pollinate just before they open this evening.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

OHHHHHH,such nice tendrils!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Is it open yet?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

mine is, it's pink and gorgeous. I just got up and am going to try and start making pictures. it's still dark here.

I haven't made it to the greenhouse. This one said Aurea X versicolor.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I hope you take your camera and come home at lunch!!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Oh, I can do that, it's raining anyway. I have a couple of seedlings of my own that are budded really good too, showing the corolla, but no color last evening.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

can't wait!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It's white!!! I should have known. Had some more open today too, all white!! I'm doomed to only have white. Gonna toss them all out the door and not grow another seed!!!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Calla, you had your ration of pinks for the year...LOL

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh Cala, I'm sorry.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

CC, I'm gonna send my pods to you and TiG to touch and then plant them!!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

all my seedlings have been frosty look a likes or white so I think Tig has the pink touch!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Yes, it's TiG(wonder if she stole all our pink vibes and that's why we dont have any?)

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

no, I've been very lucky that I had wonderful friends who sent me great seeds. I can only hope that I get one stunner next year out of my seeds!!!!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Are you guys sure Kell hasn't been into your brugs and replaced them with R. Traum and hers'(Frosty, etc.)

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

ya know, just about the time kell showed up Calla lost her pink touch.........she's the pepto fairy!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell did it!!! She stole all my pink. Now all I have left is white!! I did have a seedling open the other day, blooms shaped like Whiskers, but not that long of tendrils, and a pale gold color, it's actually pretty. It got beat up pretty bad in the wind storm, but here it is. The bruising from the wind is why the brown spots are on the flower.
