You could easily have fooled me into believing, that you dug up 325 Brugs. *LOL* Well, even if there was fewer its still hard work. Glad you got them in, before the frost hit on them.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh poppy!!! I'm so sorry it's all over but the crying. It's coming for us all. :(

Do you mean, that there will not be flowers by Snow the next months?

(Zone 6a)

Don't you just hate that first frost!

Frost was predicted for here last night, so I covered my brugs with bed sheets. Only got down to 39 deg. and no frost, so I lucked out. Supposed to be ok for another week at least now:)

OH Sue!! I can't imagine how your back must feel after all that digging. At least you have a greenhouse to keep them in. Mine will go into the garage and be allowed to go dormant or die. Have cuttings of everything, but would like the seed pods to mature. Rest up girl. You deserve it after all that work.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Glad you got them up and sorted, must have been really busy.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

The same here Poppysue. Right now it's 30 degrees out and by morning it will be in the low 20's. Everything that's still out will be frosted. It will be sad when I look out in the morning. You sure did a lot of digging. At least now you don't have to worry about frost sneaking up on you.

Don't you just hate this time of year. I hope everyone has ratholed pictures to keep us going through the winter.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Oh it's so sad when the first frost hits. Glad you got them all inside. Snow, did you get yours in?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It was -2°C in my large (8x 4m) Gh, the heater was running full blast but unable to keep frost free. It seems that the large seedlings are ok. Today, I must get the rest (about 150 plants) in the winterhouse.

This just boggles my mind. We are still suffocating in the heat and humidity and you all are freezing. But we are expecting a nice cool front for the weekend. I hope it gets cool enough to open the windows to get some fresh air. We won't get a frost probably till early December. Occassionally it happens sooner but immediately warms back after it ruins all the plants. I just got a portable green house 9x8x7 on e-bay for a song. It was half the price I saw it on the websites. I am so happy.

Monroe, WI(Zone 4b)

DonnaB, what song did you have to sing to get the greenhouse? LOL

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

They won't stay in here for long. This greenhouse is like trying heat a tent. I could never afford to heat it all winter. I'll leave them in it for a couple of weeks so they can drop their leaves and go dormant. Then they'll go into the basement - if I can find enough room! It was 35º this morning when I got up. I haven't seen the damage yet - it's still too dark out.

So many lovely brugs..amazing..and quite a big job bringing them in.
I have been bringing my one brug inside for the last two nights and putting it outside again in the morning..hoping I can get to see more blooms. The second flower bloomed this morning..but it is smaller than the first one that opened on Sunday. There are about twenty other small buds on it. I will have to ask you experts tell me how to keep it over the winter. I don't have a greenhouse.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh Monika, that is getting cold fast. We are to get really cold this weekend. A heavy frost for sure, but I'm prepared now. Just takes about an hour to get everything inside. I'll do this for those that are nicely budded. Hope the changes don't make them drop the buds. Herrenhauser Garten is getting so close again.

Sue, I'm going to let mine drop their leaves in the garage and then take them to the basement. Will put them on a sheet of plastic though so I can just roll it up in the spring and dump all the dropped leaves from over the winter. Hate the thoughts of having to put them away already. Didn't seem like our summer was long enough this year.
