After I downloaded and installed all of the latest MicroSoft XP security and service pack updates .... I got a message from HP yesterday "suggesting I not download and install the service pack update" because it's harmful to the computer in some way (the details I can not remember).
Should I really be concerned? HP suggests I perform a non-destructive system recovery ..... ack!

Does anyone have an opinion on what I should do? (For the anti-microsoft crowd, I might add, changing to a different OS isn't an option - I'm not interested in learning a new OS at this time.)
