Favorite dozen brugs.....

(Zone 6a)

If you could have only 12 brugs, which ones would they be (of the readily available varieties)??

My selections (I think, but subject to change):

Butterfly
Pink Beauty
Aurea Pink
Rosamond
Jessie Noel
Maya
Vers. Peach
Dr. Seuss
Can. "Species"
Solid Gold
Jean Pasko
H. G.

Not in any particular order:)

Would be interesting to see everyone's responses.....especially those who have actually grown gobs of different ones:) Would be good info. to help the newbies decide which ones they might want:)

Owen

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Can't improve on your list, Owen, these are almost identical to my list, except for Jesse Noel and Maya,(I have Peaches & Cream).

All good choices!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

You should try Maya, Hibiscus. It is such a fast grower and great bloomer. Wish I had known you didn't have one and I would have stuck it in your package. Next one, if I still have cuttings then.

Any Sang.

FSH, TX

If I could only have one of the readily available varieties...it would be Butterfly...she sets seed so easily that one might think she were self fertile. That and she has excellent color and bloom charateristics. Of the not readily available...Cherie Amour or Rothkirch. Of course Cherie Amour would be my favorite only as it came out of one of my seeds.

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

Culebra is at the top of my favourites list! Such a compact but elegant looking plant!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I can't honestly say what my favorites are because I don't know all that are available here. I see new names everyday here. I will say I am more partial to the ones with intense colors like deep pinks, oranges like the Dr.Suess and yellows like Whiskers. I would really like to have the Mobisu 2 from Monika and many others. Maybe one day we will get them here.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Y'all will most probably think I am crazy, but my favorite brug has got to be Frosty Pink - it blooms all the time, has a good dark green ruffled leaf, and never lets me down. Next is probably Jessie Noel and Dr. Seus and for me that is it for now.
