This is my Brug. versicolor 'Aphrodite'.
It is now 7°C here in Hamburg, and we have the chance of frost tonight.
Should I,
a) bring the plant indoors to overwinter, since I have still more than 35 flower buds hanging on it?
b) cut it back and stick it in the cellar which is very dark?
c) leave it out with a sunshade over it to keep the cold dew from directly hitting the plant.
Help please, and thank you in advance

Should I bring it indoors?
Do you have enough light inside to let it finish blooming? If it were me I would bring it inside.. it kills me to cut off the blooms.
well Wintermoor - Monika said that the versicolors need temps of 12c. The others need 5-12c.
I could stand it right at the window, where it gets a bit of light, but of course not as much as if it were outdoors.

Wintermoor, If it was me I would bring it indoors and enjoy the blooms. If you cut it down don't cut below the Y or your flowers will be late next year.
Thank You for that tip

d) send it to me:)
LOL tiG ;-)
Thanks Liz, I'd forgotten that, so it looks like he'll be in the office over winter.

Wintermoor, your plant is not a versicolor, therefore not so sensitive. But if you have a warm winterquarter, it is not too good, to let the plant too long outside. If you had much rain lately and the root ball is soaked, put the plant on a dry place and do NOT remove any leaves. They will evaporate verdunsten das überschüssige water out of the root ball. After that, you can prune, if you wish.
I have brought the plant inside already Monika, since it is 0°C here in Hamburg tonight.
What plant is it then if not a versicolor? Can you tell me that please, since it was sold to me as a versicolor from Gärtner Pötschke.
I think I should be told ;-)

Its a Mehrfachhybride, Wintermoor, a type, you will have in many crosses. It has no name. This is not important as long as it blooms very good and has a wonderful fragrance.
The flowers look much like arborea, but the buds are different from arborea.
Thanks Monika,
so I've got myself a wee multi-culti Brug?
I'll have to write to Gärtner Pötschke and let them know that it's not what they're selling it as.
As you say, it doesn't matter what it's called to me, it smells great, looks great, and grew very quickly.
Thank you
Wintermoor
