Rosenrot?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

This one came from Hodnik's as Rosenrot. I'm not sure that I've seen the name Rosenrot on any of the other euro sites.

I've seen it - I think on the Gommer site. It's gorgeous!

Liz, is it really that pinky peach color? If the color was just pink, it would look like the one I have been calling Pink Beauty, now Rosamond. I love the color of this one.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

LOVE it!

Yes, it is at Gommers. Just went there and looked at pictures and came out more confused than when I went in to visit.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

it's beautiful

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Liz, It's beautiful. Love the color.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Very pretty.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

What a name........LOL

Exactly Kell - someone emailed me last year and said it translated to rotten rose. I have that already but it is a hellebore. Anyway - I'd like someone to positively ID it for me. I have to admit that I really love these big, chunky around the waist, pinks.

Liz, the name means Rose Red, Red Rose. Rosenrot is member of the R-family, therefore a hybrid of Mme Blin.

Mme Blin said to me, that Rosenrot doesnt exist anymore. Plants offered as Rosenrot are probably a look alike R-family member. Maybe yours is Rosalind?

Rosenrot was prone to a disease, that killed mine too.

Pink Lady, Pink Beauty, Cinderella, Rosalind, Rosamond cannot be id by their flowers only from pics, the identifyer MUST see all plants together. Pink Lady, a hybrid of Mme Baum, is probably misslabeld too, as Mme Baum has a big mix up in her nursery and cannot even identify her own hybrids.

well, that explains why we can't tell Pink Beauty and Rosamond apart.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Very pretty Liz. Now that is my type of scenery.

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

I have one more that I'm waiting on for ID - labelled Pink Delight. I guess I went on a pink binge last year. They all came from Hodnik so their correct ID appears to be up in the air. Also - Monika mentioned the growth inhibitors. These ones have taken a whole year to put on a growth spurt.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

that's one of the prettiest I've seen.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Are you still taking off all the big leaves Miss Lizzie??

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL Rotten Rose?? Best I remember of my German class, Rot is red, but I was thinking Rosen was pink. Glad Monika could clear it up. The flower is beautiful!! I just dug up and potted mine that were in the ground. Hope all my seed babies and cuttings take off!!

I sure am Kellybelle. I'm going to be spraying everything before it comes inside and the less I have to spray the better.

Pink Delight is my hybrid, Liz. Please post a picture, when it blooms.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I didn't know that! Well it came from the same place so it probably won't be it either. I saw the picture last year and fell in love with it. I was young and stupid last year, now I'm old and stupid. I should have known to go to the source.

Liz, i posted a pic of PD in an earlier post. To give a hint for ID without flowers or buds: The leaves of this hybrid differ much from a normal suaveolens. The calyx is almost as large as a paprika (green pepper) and the bloom inside fills up the calyx.
