We are in the process of putting up a bigger greenhouse and I think I will have extra room in the ponds and I was thinking......It is begining to get cold for you Northerners,if you have plants that are tropical, I would be willing to overwinter them in the greenhouse and send them back in the spring if I can keep any babies they have over the winter. I also want to try some of the floating plants in there if you are just throwing them out. I don't know if I will be able to get them to stay alive, but had 100% success with the lilies last year.
Pond plants
If you would be interested in some of the common floaters (water hyacinths, lettuces, frogbit, etc.), I would be happy to share.
Boy are you generous with your space!! I've always heard that your gh is "never" big enough. You are a lucky girl -wish I could strech mine. I asked dh last week about enlarging mine, he just laughed at me.
Badseed, I would love to have some of the floaters. Are you going to try to overwinter some of them yourself? I have heard that they can be hard to overwinter, but I want to try anyway.
Azalea, Last year I had a 12x12. This year I have talked DH into a 30'x50'! with a 16'x18' pond in the middle of it!
I am really excited about getting one this size. I am sure that it will soon be out grown, but because I was only planning on asking for a 20'x20', it looks like I will have extra room.......don't worry though, I am sure I can fill it up all by my self, just might take me another year, LOL.
