If you are offering seed, I would love to trade! I have only had one tropical hibiscus produce seed. You must have the touch.

Tampa, FL(Zone 9b)

Hi again Meiyu, How do you collect those seeds? I have 3 hibiscus plants. If someone would let me know how to do it I can give seeds also. Vik

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I've never seen a seed on ANY of my tropical hibiscus,I'd love to try some though......

are my plants just weird?Does everyone else get seeds on theirs?

I'm guessing they take 2-3 years to bloom huh?

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

How do the tender hibiscus do in Texas? I mean in Dallas, where it's really hot? Do they die down each winter and then come back? I am trying to make a gardener out of my sister......

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

hi...sorry i've been out for a while! i got some seeds from mine, and there should be some more coming, as it is still blooming. i will have to find out what i did with the ones i've already collected, cuz i have not been able to do anything but take care of mama this past month. email me if you want seeds, and i will see what i can do...be patient, though. my hibiscus last year died during the winter, but came right back again in the spring...i'm in san antonio, though, and it gets a heck of a lot coulder up in dallas, so i don't know about that area.

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Meiyu I want some seeds of that one. Sorry to hear about your mother. But Keeps you out of trouble HAHA.

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

hahaha...your right about that ted! hopefully this hibiscus will come back to life soon...she bloomed up until late december. remind me in the spring...i'm already getting demented to (er, maybe 'i've already been'?) i'm sure if this one survives, i'll be so proud there'll be pictures posted with the first bloom, so you'll know when to remind me. I couldn't get the cutting to root, but I haven't tried superthrive yet.

Dripping Springs, TX

Meiyu--Welcome back! I hope you and your mother find some serenity.

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

HI THERE!! I was only 2 watched threads from getting offline, and saw your posting...how the heck are you, honey? We're getting a little better everyday, thanks for asking. Running out of poop for the night, though, but I finally have a computer downstairs and a laptop by my bed, so the only thing I need to come back regularly are hands that work, a back that can sit up and a little more energy. I get the new hands sometime next month, I think...

Dripping Springs, TX
