Great picture. Bet it really smells good around your yard in the evening. This is one of my favorites for fragrance.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Hummm - I think my blossoms were longer, maybe just the angle of the shot - can't wait for them to start opening next week. Yours are so thick and beautiful.

Beautiful Picture.

Ain't it great we have all these professional photographers !!

(Zone 7b)

Thanks for all your kind comments. This was my first year with brugs and I ended up with 8 that turned out to be Dr. Seuss - not that I'm complaining. The fragrance at night is pretty incredible. If there's anyone who doesn't have this one yet (yeah, right) I will have plenty of cuttings in a few weeks when I do the winter cutback.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

very nice. Azalea, I've noticed that some of them are putting out smaller blooms now that it's cooler.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Maybe that's it!! Hopefully I wil have some open by the time you get up here next week.

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

these look kinda like the ones i posted that i don't know the name of...except my leaves are super-huge. brugie, you gave me this one, right? i can't wait to grow it and see if it has the same strong scent?

(Zone 7b)

Depending on the location of the plant in the yard, I have some with larger and more orange flowers and some with smaller flowers that stay more yellow.. yet I'm positive they are the same plant.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Meiyu, I don't know what I sent you now. When people don't ask for specific brugs, I just send a variety. All my paper work is out in the greenhouse unless it has blown away.

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

i just went and looked at peter's flags...i do have this one!!!!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

tiG are the same person from garden web? Looking at gnomeys plants bloom are not even close to the color of mine. I know heat is supposed to make them deeper in color but this is a really big difference in color. Also the smell issue. I am not trying to dispute anything you have told me because I don't know anything. I am just trying to learn. LOL.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

donna are you birdlady? you should post your flower and leaf here, the best of the best live here at daves. color can change with weather and location. but your leaf can tell more.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Yes it's me. Should have joined a long time ago. Here they are. New leaf growth

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

gnomey..that is an awesome site..were you lying on the ground to get that shot? LOL
Boy..I have just one bloom on my Frosty pink..and now I am dreaming of having other kinds..and colours..

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

her question is whether this is CG or Dr Seuss

I'd say Dr. Suess by the looks lf the leaves...serrated.
Where is Kyle? He knows all about Dr. Suess and Charles G.

(Zone 7b)

I was almost flat on the ground to take this picture.. LOL.. Good observation Starzz :)

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Here I go again - voting for Seuss.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

I might as well post mine again - Tig thinks it's Dr Seuss.

Azalea, I also think yours is Dr Seuss. The problem with pictures on the web is that you never can really see 'true' color. Everyone has different monitor settings, etc. and digital cameras (well, mine anyway) don't always capture exactly what the eye sees. I think yours is the same plant as mine though. Granted mine look slightly different to each other too depending on where they are in the yard and what stage of bloom they are at.

I agree with Gnomey...I have cuttings off the same plant in different areas of the yard and the color is not as dark in one area as it is in the other area.

PJ...Your plant is very pretty!!!

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks - This one is my 1st love - It is huge and loaded with buds now - it has not bloomed all summer, have had it about 4 years. I got it at a plant auction for $2.50, I didn't know what I had, it was just called Angel Trumpet - no color or anything about 2 ft tall! Someone told me I would like it, I had never heard of them before. In years past it has had over 100 blooms at one time - this is the latest bloom season yet. And even my neighbors enjoy the fragrence.
