Have I been had again??

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I bought this one from Logees for $14 a 4 inch pot. It has finally bloomed and much to my despair the first bloom is a stuffed double white. It is called Species at Logees and it pictured a dropped skirt. If it is stuffed I will be stuffed..........I already have stuffed double whites all over my yard!!!!! I tried to buy one at Valley Grow, his version of a dropped skirt anyway...........and it rotted immediately! Maybe it was just not meant to be!!!

I like the orange one in the background:)

I have a candida double white....don't like the way the insides rot. Won't have it next year. LOL

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

kell, sorry you've been had...(have you been had?)
It is a nice one though....
what is the orange one in the background?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Has anyone else bought this one from Logees? Is this one that drops some skirts and does not drop others? Woe is me!!! Did anyone get a real Species from them?

The orange one was bought as a suaveolens gold. It looks like a CG to me. I have 3 huge ones growing.............. hey I was whipped into a brug frenzy after I was Daved!! All I could find were Frosties, these, and double whites. So I everytime I would go to the store I would buy another one........... LOL!! But at least I got good healthy plants. All but 1 going bye. So sad!!

Kell,
It is very pretty no matter which it is.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Kell, mine came directly from Logees - no, don't ask how. But the skirt does drop - not all the time but it does. When the weather is very warm especially..

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Mine drops every now and then, and will sometimes have an almost single bloom, just a little bitty poof up in the middle. BTW, I got the rest of my Logees order, very nice plants, no brugs.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

kell, I bought a Species from Logees and it turned out to be Milk N Honey. I still can't figure it out since they did'nt have any MNH at the time.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

snow Logees has had MNH for several years..sometimes they list it sometimes they don't ..I have had mix ups from them too...if you let them know about it usually they are very good at making it right. :-)

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

Kell,
I believe I have a plant left of one of my 'skirt droppers'.
Let me check tomorrow for sure when light.
Pix is in the database if you want to see.

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

hey, kell...got an idea! you can send her to me??? and maybe a cutting of the orange one too??? i don't think i have double white anything, unless one of the gadzillions of cuttings brugie sent is double white...hahaha...i'd give her a very happy home! they only have pink and yellow in san antonio, ya know?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Sorry Meiyu, no double in that bunch. I got rid of my double white Candida, but have a Species to replace it with in next years brug garden or whatever I decided to call all of these pots of brugs next year.

Kell, I've had Species before and not all of the blooms are going to drop the skirts. In fact, I believe Cala said something about them having single blooms too. The first one I had bloomed great for me. Maybe a couple of single blooms and the rest dropped their skirts just beautifully. I'm crossing my fingers that this one will act the same way. I got her from Renee. She posted a picture at some time on here of her Species.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Kyle, I know they would make it good but I had so many plants it didn't really matter. They are a good company and I hope to make another trip there again. Their greenhouses were awesome.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I will tell you when the plants arrived they were huge for a 4 inch pot and not root bound but lush and healthy. I was very pleased. This is very pretty, but I already this type. I had seen a picture of a skinny one with dropped skirt and it was very long............

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Kell, did you maybe see Cypress Gardens? It's a beauty.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

What is Knightii like? Does she drop her nighty? :) I have that one from Valleygrow but it hasn't bloomed yet. I'm not impressed with the mite problems on my Candida Dbl. I don't think I'm going to keep it.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I am new to bruggies. What do you mean by stuffed?

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I bought Knightii from Valley Grow, but it never grew. One day it just dropped over and died. What a disappointment.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Woodspirit, stuffed means that it is a double or more brug and the inside of the bloom doesn't drop down. If they drop down it looks like a brug within a brug and you can see two skirts.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Ah, I have seen that posted in pictures here. It looks so cool! Thanks, Brugie.
