I'll be saying prayers tonight for everyone in the storms path. Our news said it's going to be a real bad one.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I just saw it swirling around on the 6pm news - take care all. Have you all got the stuff that was on the hurricane preparedness thread on the joke forum?

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

It's sooo strong, Just saw that the eye is still 214 out in the Gulf - both La & Ms have been declared State of Emergency. The worst since Andrew in 1992.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

You guys will be in our thoughts and prayers.

It's 10 Pm and is very quiet here along the Mississippi Gulf Coast right now. We are expecting just about the same weather as we had last week. I sure hope the people around Lafayette La are all boarded up cause this storm is a super bad one. We had Camille come through here in 1969 with top winds at 210 mph and a 30 ft tidal surge.....needless to say it wiped out most of Hwy 90 plus.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

So glad you posted Glory - thought you might have evacuated - do you plan to?? I thought this one was stronger than Isadore - a 20ft storm surge is predicted, flooding for 25 mi inland! Might be a good time to come see us!!

Dripping Springs, TX

Glory--Sorry your getting a storm again. Hope you and your "babies" will weather well. Blessings.

ML

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

WOW! I hope you guys will be OK!

Why do they keep hitting there,is that usual?
I thought they hit all over (not that I want it to)I just thought they hit Florida,Carolinas etc.....and stuff like that, ya know like 1 here, one there, one over there....

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

OK y'all Lisa didn't get to leave, too late when they heard and it's headed straight for her. Pray tonight for them.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

My heart and prayers go out to all of you.

PJ,
We are not getting a direct hit form Lili. It's going into La then crossing over into Mississippi north of the coast.
I hope Red Rose has managed to get out of New Iberia...or is that Mini that lives there? Anywhere south of I10 in La is not a very good place to be right now. I'll keep y'all update on the happenings here.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Rose and Mini both left for parts north. wish Lisa had gotten out.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

This is so terrible. I have been reading the advisories on the storm. 145 miles an hour wind. My sister did not get out and she is right in the path. I am on the verge of hysteria. She told me she can't get out now, too much water. She asked me to take care of her 2 boys in college if anything happens to them. I am sick with worry! I am also so mad at her. She was set to leave and then they decided to stay.
I am doing all sorts of things trying to think about other things.

I sure hope everyone stays OK there.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Hurricanes do funny things to people. kell, wonder if they stocked up on tequila like they do in south florida. good news i guess is it has slowed down some. poor lisa, i remember her pics last year when she was totally flooded.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I hope it's not as bad as predicted. Stay safe everyone!!

Morning all,
We are doing fine here....winds are a little gusty at times but nothing bad. We haven't had much rain at my house but west of Gulfport, Ms the weather is worse. It looks like the winds of Lili have died down to 100mph but that can still do lots of damage and push lots of water on shore.

Kell,
I'm sure your sister will be fine...try not to worry to much. One of my sisters live on the back bay in Biloxi and she sleeps in her walk in closet when a winter storm comes this way and that's only 40mph winds. LOL

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Yep - thank goodness - looks the worst is over - not nearly as bad as it could have been.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

My poor sister............ her middle child is a freshman at a college in Boston........... and he has been having trouble with his ankle. The doctor misdiagnosed the kid and sent him back to school to walk all over and last night he went to the ER and it turns out it is a very bad thing and his muscle in his ankle was dying........ so they had to do emergency surgery. My sister is now hysterical, she can't get out of New Orleans to fly to Boston because of the storm. She and her husband are doctors and are going crazy not being able to be there! What a mess.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

OH, I'm so sorry Kell ~~~I hope there is something that they can do for him.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Oh, I hope they can fix him up, it must be terrible not to be with your child at such a scary time for all.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kell, I hope that things are working out okay by now.

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

We have two daughters in south La.One evacuated to Alabama and one stayed.Phones and power are out there. We talked to #1 daughter by cell phone and they came through with only minor damage but the area,as a whole, was hard hit.Point is,probably going to be some time before Lisa and Redrose are back online.I hope they made it ok.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

so glad your daughters are okay JT!!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Lisa posted earlier today, thank God she is OK!!
