Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

I did entirely too much Friday, Saturday, & Monday and was still paying for it yesterday. So Shad and I cut our evening activities short. He says he called his BSA troop leader and found out that none of his badge leaders were going to be at the meeting last night so he didn't go. We did take apart and haul the swing set we were given home. I'll use it for hanging plants on next year. Maybe bird feeders this winter. Then we did just a little shopping and I did some "beat the check to the bank" check writing. I know I shouldn't do that, but the S.S. checks will be here tomorrow and we'll be at the bank soon after it opens to cash them and make a deposit. I was so tired I was willing to do about anything to shorten the day on Thursday.
We got Shad 2 more computer tower fans and he installed them when we got home. Now his computer runs much cooler and doesn't shut down on its own from overheating. It seems as tho that one computer is a constant drain on our checking acount. I wonder just when we be able to get down to everyday lessons? Probably when cold weather hits and we can't work outside very much. Until then we do a lot of "shop" and unschooling. Unschooling is a method in which life itself is considered educational and things like math, science, and social 'studies' are incorporated into nearly everything just like we adults do unconsciencely. They also do a LOT of reading. I've had a hard time convincing myself that it is indeed a valid method of schooling. A lot of logging is required which I don't do as much of as I should.
It was so nice last night. I have several windows open to let in the cooler air. Jack ran the AC for a while after we go home from his phelbotomy treatment yesterday. We won't know until next month if he can continue the every other week schedule. In the mean time I will enjoy the freedom from 2 long trips this month. It isn't as tho I have nothing to do around here.
Lisa, your family and area are in my prayers daily. Living in tornado alley makes me well aware of the dangers of these storms.
I got to see KathyJo for a couple minutes yesterday. She was really busy so couldn't visit for long. Pray for her, she works really hard and needs a touch to keep it up. I know she doesn't think she is that bad, but I'm concerned for her. I've been there and done that working a full time job and running a farm a home schedule and know what it can do to you. I know there are others on here who are doing the same thing and my prayers are with you folks too. I know the look and feeling of almost total exhaustion and also knowing there is still so much to get done that you just can't relax and rest/sleep. And I know you do have your prioties straight so I don't throw that at any of you. I would have to stand in front of a mirror if I said that to you. Ok, I'm stop playing mom to all of you.
Mary, I'm so glad to hear you are getting all this canning done. This year I did the grapes and a few tomatoes. Period. I gave away the beans except for a few meals of them and am giving away the tomatoes to families who need them.
GOD bless and keep each and all of you.
