Hello farmers. I think winter is decending upon us. The mountains have snow and some of the foothills in front of them as well. We still haven't had frost, but the temp was 32 at daylight this morning, it is supposed to be colder tonight. I have the tomatoes, squash and beans all wrapped up, my garden really looks strange! We had wind all night and so far today, the wind chill is 27.
Lisa and the folks on the Lousiana and Texas coasts are bracing for the next hurricane, and I was thinking what a contrast in the weather between here and there. We have snow showers forecast for Friday or Saturday. This cold is a little bit unseasonal for us. Global warming?, well not here. Not this year. Overall the northwest weather was cooler than average. Yesterday it was about 15* cooler.
Today's project is canning green beans, I think there is close to a canner load. Breezy needs to be ridden again, I rode him yesterday for about half an hour but did not want to get him too warm since a cold front with rain showers was comming over the hills at us. I didn't get started early enough so now need to go do it today. Right now I'm waiting for the sun to warm things up a little. Not having a barn to put him in sure has it's disadvantages.
Take care everyone, have a good day and count your blessings.
