Sun Kissed

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

formerly EK5, it's so nice and such a good bloomer it needs a name. This is a first day flower. It stays this color, the edge might get a bit darker. Doesn't collapse.
Yellow with reddish edge, it's a tall sturdy bloomer. Insignis Gold x Butterfly, hybridized by Eric Knight.

Kyle, this is the one I sent you.

Lovely Tig, Eric will be pleased with the name. I sure hope he's ok.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I like the name too. It is nice to see blooms that haven't been eaten by the cucumber beetles that we have here.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

well, they didn't like this one! but they sure loved some!!! you wouldn't believe what some of mine look like. But I think it's more two areas of my garden that have the worst problems, nothing by the front door has anything eaten. I have got to get a handle on them next year early. Systemics seem like the only answer. ??

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I do like this name and it's lovely. Is it in the PDB? It's going to be great this year having names for Eric's hybrids. Great name - is this going to be his 'Sun'series?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Liz, I put it in this morning. Don't know if it will be Sun series, I don't know what the rest of the seedlings are going to do, but I was thinking of a 'kissed' series. too much coffee probably!!!

meiyu, what a gorgeous yellow. Is golden at all or a true yellow thru out the bloom cycle?

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

oopsie...lost the thread!! keep forgetting to click watch thread!! no, kell, it is like the one azalea just posted with it getting darker with age. i see more of a peach tint, but i guess it could be called gold. all i know is that the scent is awesome and very strong right at dusk!!!!
