This is a seedling - I forgot which one. The buds are really inflated - they almost seem puffed up & empty. The bottom one is a tad deformed but I see the corolla is peeking out. I have tons of new blooms that are taking their sweet-ol' time opening. I want flowers!!!
Plump buds
Those are huge. Hope you get blooms soon.
A-N-T-C-I-P-A-T-I-O-N!!!
Got that right Kell. It's driving me CRAZY! I have a slew of new blooms that should open this week if it stays warm enough.
Poppy, I'm in the same boat. I have several plants loaded with buds and ready to open. Just one more week with no frost. Pleeeeeeease!!!
Can't wait to see what that is. Looks like cucumbers at first glance of post.
my insignis gold and ins gold x bfly seedling look like that.
Open . . . Open . . .Open . . . !
Frost expected here the next three nights. I covered my brugs but it is raining on the covers. Waaaaa I want blooms. My Isabella has buds that are almost ready to open and now this. I sure hope they make it through the nights until my DH can help me pot them up for the house.
are these in the ground?? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Sue,I have some that look just like that too that are just starting to open, mine are Valley grow seedlings
If we get a frost now I'm dead!
karyn, what about the greenhouse??
Mine are in 35 gallon pots. DH is out of town this week and my back can't handle the repotting by itself. I finally got an unnamed yellow one to bloom but the 7 inch blooms all sunburned and they were not fragrant.
I'd be dragging those puppies one inch at a time! but I sure understand about bad backs. You'll probably make out fine and we'll see great pictures soon.
We are in the middle of putting the sliding glass door from the garage to the GH.Until thats in I can't move everybody in.I'm working 11am till 10:30 pm this week so I'm not getting any of the work done on it.The header that needs to go in is more than I can do myself......
I have lots potted up but I didn't want to chance loosing the buds or blooms on some that are soooo close to blooming.
Another busy bee opened tonite but its a white just like the other one ......
I did dig up the bananas...LOL
I'll take a picture of the one tomorrow...It almost reaches the roof of the GH,I took off all but the newest leaves and they seem to be adjusting well, better than butterfly, she was completly drooped to the ground....
oh man, it's just that time of year isn't it?? why do tropicals have to be tropical??? hmmm??
Why didn't I get this done this summer...its UPS's fault!
Oh so close!! LOL
Come on blooms!! This part of the wait kills me, waiting to see what the final color is. Sometimes what looks white isn't and what looks colored isn't.
I have 4 or 5 that are this close!! They were predicting frost for tonite but it looks like it will spare us along the coast here. Further inland they won't be so lucky. I'd cry if they were all frosted now!
Crossing my fingers for you, real hard!
Waiting for brug blooms is like CC's wait on her hibiscus. Everyday, you know you have to wait yet another day until finally.............the big reward. What a treat to go out and finally see that first brug bloom that you've never seen bloom before. I hope you get to see all of your brugs bloom before the first frost Sue.
Heck ,I'm coming home every nite to see what,if anything opened or got color while I was gone,my flashlight batteries are running out!
is this the yellow one or a different one? so glad frost is holding off. looks like it has long tendrils
This is different. It's the one with the fat calyx - in the top photo. It looks like it's gonna have some color but hard to tell with a flashlight. It does have long tendrils and the flowers look fat too. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
I can't wait till tomorrow.............
He is still white :( It's still a beautiful bloom and I'd have to say I like it better than some of the white hybrids I have. I think I'll keep him and see what he does next year.
I love white ones esp at night. they shimmer in the moonlight. Great planted around the porch to enjoy with a late evening glass of wine on a nice evening.
