Cool, keep us updated.

Love Lemon Yellow!! Hope it stays like this. Lemon yellow is what I thought I was getting when I ordered Sunray....NOT. How about chartruse instead. Pretty ugly, so I don't think I got what I ordered.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

My Sunray is pale yellow with darker ribs. I got it from MsJen.
Forgot to mention, these seeds weren't mine. They came from a very generous person.

The one I ordered was pictured in Logee's catalog and was even described as lemon yellow. I think it was the wrong picture for the brug. Anyway........I'll be just tooooo happy with Becca Lynn. Thanks so much.

You're gonna love Becca Lynn. How is she doing?

They look great. Tomorrow they will go into larger containers for the winter. At least mine will. Kyle will re-pot his because he doesn't like my Pro-Mix soil.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

He doesn't like Pro-Mix? What does Kyle use for soil? To be honest I have trouble with Pro-mix staying too soggy sometimes. I still use it tho. There's not much of a choice for potting soils around here unless you want to pay an arm & a leg.

Poppysue, there is a nursery 5 miles from me that sells potting soil in bulk, $24.00 a cubic yard...our pick up mashed down. i can't afford to buy it in bags. do you have a place like that? this nursery sells to other nurseries and the public. they also sell top soil and mulch. if i had inside plants i might do different, but i seem to kill anything i leave inside.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Pro Mix gets too dry too quick for me..especially when I'm gone all day..if it gets windy everything is terribly wilted when I get home. I mix my own from Hyponex basic soil then add amendments to it.Pro mix is light weight too so plants tend to blow over more easily.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I buy compost by the pick-up truck full. It's cheaper than buying shredded bark mulch. I use it to mix soil up for outside pots but I want something sterile for plants in the house. I brought a bunch of bugs in one year .... another hard lesson learned.

Kyle - you mean the heavy potting mix stuff that sells for a $1.50 per 40 lbs bag?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I use Pro-mixBX, it has bark composted in. We use it for our perennials at the greenhouse. I would prefer Berger potting mix, but it's hard to get here. Berger has one with Rockwool in the mix that's good. The wetting agent in Pro-mix breaks down fast making it hard to rewet if it gets too dry, and like Eclipse said, it dries out fast on windy days, but can get waterlogged during rainy periods. We buy it by the truck load for the nursery, that's why I use it.I add extra sand for weight and also vermiculite. There is a good one called Sunshine, that you can sometimes find.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I agree that Pro-Mix dried out quickly. This summer I watered two or three times a day and even now when it is cooler, I still have to water a couple of times a day because of the wind drying it out. Just don't know if I'm up to doing all the mixing to change types. Might think about just mixing another soil like the Hyponex potting soil with the Pro-Mix. The plants definitely do blow over unless chained down. Have had a lot of that this year too.

OK, here is what it looked like when I pulled the car into the GH parking lot. This is the softest peach color I've ever seen, not pink, yet not fully peach.Like TiG said, soft like a baby girls blanket. I want to call it "Everlasting". I know this is silly, but when I drove up, Bill had the radio on and it was playing "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" and I love that song.
