Oh I love these plants,I want one of EVERY color!
bougie
I love 'em too C.C. they are so beautiful. We are fortunate enough to grow them in the ground here, if planted in the right place and they don't freeze, they get to be a nice size, if they freeze, they are root hardy and come back. When we went to Mexico, they were massive there, some as high as the hotels! Just lovely!
Karyn, it is gorgeous and of course, red. :-) It should do really well in the new greenhouse. Wish I could grow one here, but just not a long enough season and no place to keep it growing during the winter. How is the greenhouse coming along?
The last two years I kept it in the house for the winter and it did ok.....
I just posted another picture of what the GH looked like this morning...its getting there....
You are going to love that greenhouse. Love the plants in it already. :-)
I do love the red ones. They have huge bougies in Mexico don't they Lisa. They have them in South Texas too, big trees almost.
They are definately beautiful. My aunt has one growing to the second story of her house. She cuts it back to keep it from pulling the house over! (that is in Tampa)
they grow like weeds down here my wife want me to get one but I need to find a good spot or one frist the brugs get piorty
irish, are you on the panhandle of Fla?
brugie...I have this red in bloom in the front yard now...can be kept semi dormant in winter..cool and dry then put back out in spring. :-)
Kyle, do they get big? I'd love to have one, but if they get huge and with stickers, I don't have much room to store one.
Brugie..they can be trimmed to whatever size you want. :-)
They have the best colors now. I have seen ones here that are just huge! Always brings a smile to my face!
I finally put my variegated bougie in a hanging planter, seems happier in thet then in a regular pot on the ground
