passiflora molissima

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It's bigger than I thought it would be and so pretty. It's a nice shade of pink too.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Another pretty one. The lighter colors sure show up better on the vines.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I agree with that, but Blue Bouquet sure smells good.

Palmyra, VA(Zone 7a)

That's a good shot! So when do we expect to see a fruit? :)

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Well, I hadn't planned on pollinating this one, the vine is getting out of hand and I need to cut it back, lol. I was so tempted yesterday to pollinate, but I resisted.

Cala I just noticed your hand behind the flower...its a huge flower!! I guess I got so used to looking at closeups that I didn't realize how big that flower really was.

When my seeds arrive how long should I soak them for? Overnight or a couple of days? Is it a good idea to put heat underneath them? I know, so many questions.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

so pretty and pink!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, is that a hint?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Cala.................

Calalily--do the butterfly larva chew your beautiful plant to the nub?

ML

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

They eat more of incarnata than any other one, but love Blue Bouquet, it's still blooming like crazy and they are munching away, so guess it doesn't really hurt them. They haven't eaten foetida, molissima or sanguiolenta at all.

Dripping Springs, TX

Calalily--I know the Passiflora is a host plant for the larva to feed on--but--I think when I replace all of mine that got chewed to the ground-- I'm going to try and put a row cover over some of them. I have no palnts left and chrysalises hanging everwhere.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Rose, plant some Incarnata for them to eat, they love it best of all.
